On August 15, 2012 at the meeting room of Nithipavee Srisuk, Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nawarat Varausavapatijarean, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, Assit. Dr. Arnoma Rattanajareantum, Associate Dean for Student Development and Special Affairs and Mr. Kesada Sikunsan, Head of the project, jointly held a press conference entitled “the 30th Healthy Teeth makes Happiness” at the Dong Bung Wittaya School, Huanakam, Yagtalad, Kalasin province on August 24, 2012 (9:00 am to 4.00 pm).
The Dean disclosed that according to the policy of KKU and Faculty in community social responsibility, the Faculty intends to make the happiness to all sectors with the role of Philosopher in the Mekhong Sub Region and the missions of education, research, academic service, and cultural extension. Thus, this project will be useful for the people in holistic dental health care and is widely distributed through all mass media.
Assit. Prof. Anoma Rattanajareantum, the Associate Dean, added that this project has been conducting as long as 30 years. The dental care services will provide the principal of oral and dental care and treatments especially for the peoples who are not able to obtain the dental services. In addition, the activities, including of various exhibitions, will activate the attentiveness in the health care of the family.
Mr. Kesada Sikunsan, Head of the project, reported the project is one of strategies to promote the good health in accordance with the legislation of the national health (2550) with the definition of “the balance of physical mental, intellectual and social conditions of human”. “Moving according to the word of “healthy condition”, the main determinants of health include all 4 characters as mentioned”.
Kalasin is one of provinces that rarely obtain the holistic public health service. From this reason, the Faculty decided to set up the project in Kalasin. The activities will be the dental service by the Royal Dental Unit, health promotion, on stage activity, dental young creative show, elderly creative show, funny sports, papaya salad making contest, service mind activity, quiz test and guidance for study in the Faculty of Dentistry and as well as other interesting activities.
“Of these activities provided will give opportunities to exchange and transfer the knowledge of the holistic health for not only students but also the education officials and peoples located in Kalasin and the contiguous area. This project is the starting point in the development and promoting processes for healthy condition of the public. Therefore, we cordially invite all to attend this coming event”. He added at the end.
