Lecturers of Tourism and Service Industry Program of Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences lead their students on a study trip

March 15-16, 2021 – Lecturers of the Tourism and Service Industry Program of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Khon Kaen University took their second-year students on a study trip to Khon Kaen.

On the first day, the group went to Avani Khon Kaen Hotel & Convention Centre to listen to a special lecture, learn the dining table manners and table setting, study the operations of the Front Office Department, visit the different guest rooms and learn about the management of the rooms such as making a bed and arranging the facilities in each type of the rooms.

On the second day, the group visited the Khon Kaen airport, was welcomed by the Head of Flight Procedures Department, listened to the lecture on the operations of the airport and visited the different sections of the airport. In the afternoon, the lecturers and students went to the Khon Kaen International Convention and Exhibition Center (KICE). The Center Manager and the Manager of Human Resources of the Northeast Region welcomed the group and led them to see each section of the Center.

This study trip greatly benefited the students, who had a chance to experience the real places and the operations. They were able to see some parts of the tourism and service industry in the city. The lecturers were also able to follow up 3 students under the cooperative education program at Avani Hotel and 3 students under the same program at KICE, who have been working there for two and a half months. These practicum students have been working just like one of the staff and received good experience.
