QSHC holds the 2021 Global Hand-Washing Day – “Free from virus, free from bacteria, by hand washing”

October 15, 2021 – An event was held to celebrate the 2021 Global Hand-Washing Day under the theme, “Free from virus, free from bacteria, by hand washing” at Noppadon Thongsophit Room, 3rd Floor, Queen Sirikit Heart Center, under the New Normal style, i.e., limiting guests to 50 only. The event, however, was broadcast online. Activities included announcement of the winners of Hand-Washing Picture Competition that best promote hand washing, and question-answer contest from which a lot of prices were given.

Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makorawes, M.D., Director of Queen Sirikit Heart Center explained that the Center holds the Global Hand-Washing Day every year, with an aim to campaign and build awareness among personnel and the public of all age levels to wash hands with clean water and soap, which is easy to do but efficient and cheap. Hand washing is also one of the major measures to control the spread of Corona virus (Covid-19).
