Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University said in his speech, “Dear Vice Presidents, President of the Alumni Association, Assistants to the Presidents, Division Directors, Advisor of the Student Organization, Committee members of the Student Organizations, the 57th, 58th and 59th classes of students, and distinguished guests, I am pleased and honored to preside over the opening ceremony of the welcoming activity for the new students today. It is the third time that I’ve met the new students. The first time was at the official orientation. The second time was the last Friday activity. So today is another time that administrators meet you. There is the President of KKU Alumni Association, Khun Morakot Pittarat, joining the ceremony today. I’d like to use this opportunity to show you that the important thing about any activity arranged for the students is for building love and attachment. We have the alumni association for the alumni to reunite. Having connection or network of friends in the same and different occupations means you have support for your work, you have the social network of friends from other faculties. This means the power that will benefit your life after you have graduated. Today is another time that I appreciate the Student Organization and the committee for arranging the singing session. I believe that the university song is an important tool showing that we are from the same family, the family of Mo Din Daeng enclosed by the brick-color fence. Other activities will also be the tool for building love and unity among ourselves. Lastly, I’d like to thank the organizers of the event today. I hope that all activities to happen today will be successful. At the end of the event there will be the bouquets decorating event. The bouquets stand for the 57th, 58th, and 59th classes, showing that you belong to Mo Din Daeng or Khon Kaen University. I officially declare the event open now.”
