Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences holds the Official Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony at the 10th Anniversary Field, Nongkhai Campus

June 27, 2022 – Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Khon Kaen University held the Freshmen Welcoming Ceremony at the 10th Anniversary Field, Nongkhai Campus. Assoc. Prof. Piansak Pakdee, Vice President for Student Development and Alumni Relation gave an opening address. Among distinguished administrators were Asst. Prof. Kiat Saengarun, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Sciences, lecturers and staff.

The kalaphruek bouquet decorating activity was an activity in which the new students, the 59th Class, and the representatives of the 57th and 58th Classes showed their love and pride of the institution, by singing the university songs with all other students. The event was meant to promote spirits among new students so that they will love, assist one another, and develop unity in their class. The activity also strengthens relationships among the seniors and freshmen, and among the freshmen themselves. In the activity, there was the session when the history of the Faculty was related to the new students through a recorded video clip. There were a performance showing the time at the beginning of Khon Kaen University, and another welcoming performance.

To guard against the spread of the virus (COVID-19), all participants wore masks, and showed that they had received at least 2 times of vaccination, or showed the results of ATK or RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours before the activity. Temperature check was also done before the participants could enter the venue. The welcoming activity is an activity in which all new students prove that they are Khon Kaen University students after several welcoming activities before the semester begins. This activity is the official and most important one that brings pride to all KKU folks. The singing of University’s songs was this time joined by the freshmen, the seniors and lecturers. The freshmen have been taught to sing correctly. At the event, the newcomers were trained to make friends with others, to be patient, to sacrifice, and love one another of the same class and also all the seniors, as well as to become proud of the University. There were 620 students joining the activity.
