KKU meets with delegates from Universitat MuhamadiyahYogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia on academic and research collaboration

August 26, 2022 at 14:30 p.m. – Administrators of KhonKaen University led by Vice President for International Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, Ph.D., Asst. Prof. Acharawan Tophak-ngarm, Ph.D., Assistant to the President for International Affairs; Assoc. Kiatchai Phugsri, Ph.D., Dean of the Graduate School; Asst. Prof. ThanaphruekChamarat, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Administration of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences; Dr. JutharopPetcharaburanin, Assistant to the Dean for Research and International Affairs of the Faculty of Medicine; Mrs. Wilawan Angsunantawiwat, Acting Director of the Division of International Affairs; and Mr. Issara Suriyakul, Na Ayudhya, Head of International Affairs of the Division, met with the delegation from the Universitat MuhamadiyahYogyakarta, Republic of Indonesia, led by Dr. Fitri Arofiati, Director of Cooperation and International Affairs. The objective of the meeting was to discuss collaboration in exchange of students and staff and in research and community services.

Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-Aswapati Charoen, PhD. first delivered a welcoming address to the delegation from the Universitat Muhamadiyah Youyakarta, Republic of Indonesia.

Khon Kaen University and the Universitat MuhamadiyahYogyakarta have begun the collaboration since 2013, for exchanging students, staff and conducting research as well as joining in organizing international conferences. Presently, Khon Kaen University has an MOU with 61 leading universities in Indonesia and 85 Indonesian students are studying at Khon Kaen University.

Dr. Fitri Arofiati, Director of Cooperation and International Affairs, said that she was pleased to return to Khon KaenUniversity. As an alumnus of Khon Kaen University, she thanked the administrators, lecturers and all of the staff members who welcomed her and her team warmly. Dr. Arofiati hoped that the visit this time will lead to development in academic collaboration, especially in the programs of the Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, and Faculty of Public Health and other international programs.

After the meeting, the delegation from UMY made a visit to the library of the Faculty of Engineering and shared knowledge and ideas about the services and training programs of the library as well as different facilities offered by the library.
