The Research Center of Cleft Lips – Cleft Palate and Craniofacial Deformities of Khon Kaen University receives the “Lert Rath Award for Outstanding Service Innovation, 2022” from the work “Nasal Creator Device”, which is a device for patients with cleft lips and palate. The award was given by the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC).
The Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) had resolved to award prizes for 2022 to the official departments that have shown excellent work outcomes in increasing efficiency of official services and development of official management with participation by other sectors. The Nasal Creator Device, invented by Assoc. Prof. Poonsak Pisek, Ph.D., D.D.S., with the teams of students and lecturers from the Faculty of Dentistry, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Engineering, won the “Lert Rath Award for Outstanding Service Innovation. The presenting of the prize was held online on Monday September 12, 2022.
The Nasal Creator Device, invented by Assoc. Prof. Poonsak Pisek, Ph.D., D.D.S., and his team was accepted by the National Health Security Office (NHSO) to be refundable for patients all over the country. The device is being used at present at 32 hospitals all over Thailand and 5 hospitals in Asia Pacific. The device has been awarded many prizes such as the honor prize from the National Research Council (in 2020), a national innovation award in social category, the first runner-up prize from the National Innovation Commission, and a silver medal award at an international level from the Geneva Inventions held at the 48th International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, etc.
The Lert Rath Award is an honor prize that the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) awards each year to different official divisions and departments in order to appreciate and honor their dedication and work that brings success and benefits to the country. The inventions provide services that are efficient, fast, impartial, and transparent, and bring satisfaction to those who receive the service. Congratulations to the Nasal Creator Device by Assoc. Prof. Poonsak Pisek, Ph.D., D.D.S., and his team for winning this award.
