Congratulations to the 21 work outcomes of KKU personnel for winning the awards in “The 11th KKU SHOW and SHARE”

November 9, 2022 – Division of Human Resources of Khon Kaen University held the awarding presentation ceremony under “The 11th KKU SHOW and SHARE”. The 21 work outcomes have been evaluated as outstanding for organizational development, human potential development, and work efficiency development. Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University presided over the ceremony. Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitcharoen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources delivered the reporting speech. The awardees attended the ceremony and received the awards, at Sirikunakorn Room 3, Sirikunakorn Building, Khon Kaen University.

Assoc. Prof. Kriengkrai Kitcharoen, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources reported, “Khon Kaen University has used the Knowledge Management (KM) as a tool for organizational development, human potential development and work efficiency development, towards becoming a Learning Organization (LO) since 2004. The work has been carried out continuously and is the base for supporting the development in accordance with the University’s strategies in different aspects. In Khon Kaen University’s strategies 2020-2023, the vision has been set, which is “A World-Leading Research and Development University”. Therefore, it is vital to construct bodies of knowledge, compile and utilize the knowledge for propelling the University’s strategies.

The 11th KKU SHOW and SHARE 2022 was organized to promote the development according to Khon Kaen University’s strategies to become a Learning Organization. It was the venue for exchanges and sharing of experiences, success and pride of the personnel of the University. The event opened a chance for KKU personnel to present their work outcomes that have been developed from their regular jobs and duties until the works have been evaluated as good practices. The other objective of the event was to build a network for knowledge management in Khon Kaen University, stimulate and encourage the personnel to improve their work process, which would lead to new innovations of work.”

The event featured competition of the work outcomes of personnel of Khon Kaen University and exhibition of the success and excellence in the development of work in the form of online posters. There were 140 work pieces presented, divided into 2 categories: 7 innovations that leads to integration of knowledge and expertise in academic service and solution of Isan problems; 49 work outcomes and innovations that lead to expertise in carrying out regular jobs (Process Innovations); 53 work outcomes in Service Innovations; and 31 work outcomes in IT (Product Innovations. The awarding ceremony was organized on November 9, in which 21 work pieces were awarded the prizes, and 4 first-prize awarded work outcomes presented their works.”

Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University said, “There are 3 keywords for the activity today: 1) Benchmarking, which is comparing the competency, 2) Knowledge Management, or the capacity to transfer the process of KM that is the tacit knowledge towards explicit knowledge, until clear knowledge emerges, and 3) Products and Innovations. Benchmarking today is the learning process that is very important. The theory about human resource development weighs training and seminar at 10% and 20-30 %, which is from “learning from peers”, for this leads to more in-depth learning than listening to lectures. What remains is “on the job training”. This is the new theory of human resource development. I believe that best practice is very useful, for we learn from friends who have succeeded and adjust it in our job. The other important thing is: not to end at show&share. We should synthesize the knowledge and construct the knowledge bank and the system accessible for all to learn and apply in their work. The IT or products and innovations that are awarded are also very important, for the products and innovations are valuable in themselves and are the major part that builds a high performance organization. Innovations may not only mean products, but can be the process of work made better. This is also innovation. I appreciate the work outcomes of everyone today and congratulations to you all. I’m also grateful to the Human Resource Section for organizing the activity today. I hope everyone will enjoy learning from the show and share today.”

The 11th KKU SHOW and SHARE 2022 is a stage of knowledge and experience where attendants learn from the presentation and learning and sharing from the good and best practices of KKU personnel in many fields. This will lead to development of the regular job that is appropriate to the context and nature of the organization. It will also strengthen the network of knowledge management, which will result in development of thinking for organization development, human potential development and work efficiency development and finally the organization will become a Learning Organization (LO) according to the vision of Khon Kaen University to be A World-Leading Research and Development University.”
