Monday February 13, 2023 – The International College of Khon Kaen University trained their students to perform first aid under the Project called: “First Aid for International Students 2023”. The training took place at Room 301, the Basic Skill Development and Lecture Building. The participating students were trained to be able to carry out first aid to injured people in time before they are sent to hospital. Trainers were a team of health professionals from the Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University led by Asst. Prof. Thapanawong Mitsungnoen, M.D., and Dr. Thanit Tangpaisan, M.D.

At present, certain causes of death of most people in Thailand are from respiratory diseases, stroke, heart diseases, hypertension, and accidents. If the people fallen ill or being injured from an accident are accurately assisted in time, they will be able to survive and return to their normal physical condition. The IC students were trained to perform BLS, CPR and AED under this project.

The International College holds this First Aid for International Students Project once every year. The activity is compulsory for IC undergraduate students majoring in tourism management before they graduate. Students are trained until they possess adequate skills and are able to assist people in emergency cases. In addition, students become more aware of safety precaution.
