KKU joins 2 Japanese and 2 Thai institutes improving potential of school directors and educational supervisors

IRDTP for ASEAN collaborates with 2 Japanese and 2 Thai institutes to improve potential of school directors and educational supervisors from all over Thailand in Japan from Oct 26-Nov 4, 2019 

Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN (IRDTP for ASEAN), Khon Kaen University, together with 2 Thai institutes – the Teachers’ Council of Thailand and National Institute for Development of Teachers, Faculty Staff, and Educational Personnel (NIDTEP) – and 2 Japanese institutes – National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development (NITS) and University of Fukui – organized training program of 2019 in phase 2 from October 26 – November 4, 2019. The training program was held at Demonstrate School of University of Fukui and NITS.  

After 2-day activity in phase 1 conducted at IRDTP for ASEAN had been complete, the activities in phase 2 were hold at Demonstrate School of University of Fukui from October 28-31, 2019 and at NITS from November 1-4, 2019. All 34 participants of this activity were school directors and educational supervisors from 24 provinces in Thailand.

Varies activities of this project were conducted in the forms of special talk, academic lecture, workshop, observation of 6 classes which were both elementary and secondary level, study visit at model school offering Active Learning Approach, observation of teaching plan development, Lesson Note preparation, and School Plan Creation. 

The objectives of this project are to enhance leadership of school directors and educational supervisors, promote better quality of class management, and support Sustainable Development Goals of Khon Kaen University. It is certain that the project can achieve every goal because KKU has collaborated with NITS. NITS is an experienced institute providing training session to teachers and school directors nationwide more than 80 times each year. Moreover, collaboration with the educational institute in Fukui Prefecture can guarantee the success because its educational performance ranks in the top 3 of Japan.

Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha, Vice President for Education and Acting Director of Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN; Prof. Dr. Monchai Duangjinda, Vice President for Research and Academic Services; Prof. Kenichi Matsuki, Vice President of University of Fukui; Mr. Masahiro Ouji, Deputy Director of National Institute for School Teachers and Staff Development; Dr. Watanaporn Ra-Ngubtook, Acting Secretary of the Teachers’ Council of Thailand; and Dr. Tinsiri Siripo, Executive Board of Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, participating in these activities.
