KKU joins in skill-development for teachers and learning managers for the 21st Century classrooms

August 8-9, 2020 at Smart Classroom, 4th Floor, – Khon Kaen University by the Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN organized online training on: “Basic Principles and Theories for the Lesson Study and the Open Approach Innovations”.

The online training on “Basic Principles and Theories for the Lesson Study and the Open Approach Innovations” is one of the activities organized, under the Educational Equity Fund, by Office of Quality Development for Teachers, Students, and Schools. Assoc. Prof. Maitree Inprasitha, Ph.D., Vice President for Education and Academic Service and Acting Director of Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN and an expert in learning management was invited as the trainer and one of the guest speakers.

The activities on Saturday August 8, 2020 included:

– A talk on: “Development of Teacher Profession and Practices of Traditional Teaching Approach Versus Lesson Study and Open Approach” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha.

– An Open Approach in mathematics subject under the title, “The Zone for Demonstrating Learning Management” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Narumon Changsri, Director of Mathematics Study Research Center of Khon Kaen University. The lesson was reflected by Asst. Prof. Piyasak Pakkhothanang, Acting Deputy Director of the Institute for Research and Development in Teaching Profession for ASEAN, Assoc. Prof. Jumpon Rachawijit and Asst. Prof. Khem Khenkhok.

The activities on Saturday August 8, 2020 featured a workshop on, “Writing Kyozai Kenkyu Lesson Plan for the Lesson Study and Open Approach” by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maitree Inprasitha and Asst. Prof. Dr. Narumon Changsri.

In addition, participants watched video on the Lesson Study and Open Approach followed by the question-answer session and reflecting of the outcomes.

The 25 participants who attended this online training had been selected by the Educational Equity Fund from 100 people. Other 30 participants were administrators and staff members of Mathematics Study Research Center, Education Foundation for Developing Thinking Skill, lecturers from Faculty of Education, and students majoring in mathematics study. In addition, there were 4 experts and researchers from the Educational Equity Fund joining as observers, led by Dr. Benjalak Namfa.
