KKU launches a computer-lending project for students to learn online during the COVID-19 crisis

January 11, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. – Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University and KKU administrators gave portable computers to students so that they can learn online. This is under the computer-lending project for students organized by Khon Kaen University Library. Many students came to register for a computer.

The President of Khon Kaen University reported that from the spread and crisis of the Coronavirus 2019 or COVID -19, there have been strict health-related measures taken nationwide to prevent the spread of the disease. Khon Kaen University finds it necessary to adjust the instruction and to apply the e-learning or online learning model. This requires students to have an appropriate IT device. However, with the socio-economic situation during this critical period, a number of students are affected; they cannot afford a computer device for the new instructional approach. In order to solve the problem, the University therefore provides 2,297 computers for the students who need a computer. This number is divided into 2,192 laptops and 105 desktops equipped with Webcams.
