Mission

The Khon Kaen University Act of 2015 designates the university as a higher education institution with the purpose of providing education, promoting, applying, and advancing academic and professional knowledge. The university is dedicated to teaching, conducting research, developing and transferring technology, offering academic and professional services to society, and preserving arts and culture.

Administrative Policies of Khon Kaen University

Guided by the vision of the Khon Kaen University Council, the university aspires to become a “world-class research and development university” while maintaining its role as a valuable institution for society. Success is measured by global recognition through rankings by various international organizations. To achieve this vision, the university has established three key focus areas: People, Ecology, and Spirituality. To fulfill these goals, policies, and missions, Khon Kaen University has developed a four-year strategic plan (2025–2028). This plan ensures the university’s progress and sustainable development amidst the challenges facing higher education in Thailand. Known as the “KKU Transformation,” the strategic plan builds upon the previous four-year plan and emphasizes continuous and sustainable advancement. The plan is closely monitored, reviewed, and updated to adapt to changing circumstances.
