On June 14, 2025, Primary Care Unit 123, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, organized a training program titled “First Aid & BLS (Basic Life Support)” aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of students in the WMW Science Classroom Project, university students, and staff. The session, held at the Kalapruek Room, Tonkla Dormitory, welcomed 90 participants.
The training was designed to provide both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice in basic life-saving techniques. The lecture session was led by Dr. Nattawut Uecharoen, supported by a team of experienced emergency medical instructors from the hospital’s CPR Unit. The team included Mr. Kongla Saenphan, Mr. Pornphian Wachirajianon (Head of the Nakharin EMS Unit), Mr. Solos Pracharung, and Mr. Thatchakrit Wongphop, all from the EMS team at Srinagarind Hospital.
The training consisted of two main components. The first component was the theoretical session, which covered key principles of first aid and basic life support. The second component was the practical session, which provided participants with hands-on CPR training and instruction on how to use automated external defibrillators (AEDs). Expert instructors were on hand to offer close, personalized guidance throughout the session.
This initiative aligns with Khon Kaen University’s strategic goal of empowering students, staff, and youth with the capabilities needed to assist in real-world emergencies. It also fosters collaboration with external organizations to improve both the quality of education and community engagement. The program contributes to building a network of individuals equipped with life-saving knowledge who are prepared to offer essential assistance in emergency situations—bringing long-term benefits to both the university community and wider society.
