On June 22, 2024, the Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a special lecture titled “AI Readiness for Future Educators: Preparing the Next Generation of Teachers for an AI-Driven World.” The event took place at the Saisuree Chutikul Conference Room and featured a keynote presentation by Asst. Prof. Dr. Anucha Somabut, Assistant to the President for Education at KKU. The aim was to prepare new undergraduate and graduate students to understand and harness the power of artificial intelligence (AI) in education. The event was officially opened by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jarunee Samat, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
During his lecture, Asst. Prof. Dr. Anucha emphasized the importance of viewing AI not merely as a tool, but as a “thinking partner” that can help educators enhance learning and develop future-ready skills without limits. He encouraged students to use AI to explore information from new perspectives, create innovative teaching materials, and even support the design of personalized learning plans for individual students.
At the heart of this approach is the development of AI literacy—a foundational skill that all future educators must possess in order to use AI tools creatively, effectively, ethically, and with critical awareness. The lecture also introduced “KKU IntelSphere,” the university’s AI platform, which allows all students to fully access and utilize AI technologies to support their learning and research.
The Faculty of Education at Khon Kaen University remains committed to cultivating graduates who are not only skilled teachers but also educational innovators. The faculty strives to equip its students with the ability to creatively integrate modern technologies and contemporary knowledge in ways that sustainably advance the quality of education in Thailand amid a rapidly changing global landscape.
