On 21 November 2025, from 13:30 to 14:30 hrs., the Commumunication Affairs Divisionof Khon Kaen University (KKU) organised an orientation training programme for the new generation of public relations staff. The course, titled “Posting Public Relations News on the Khon Kaen University Website and AI-Assisted News Writing,” was held at the Commumunication Affairs Divisionof Khon Kaen University Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Building 2, the President’s Office Building. Twenty participants attended the session.

Mr. Chumporn Para, Director of the Commumunication Affairs Division of Khon Kaen University , stated that the training reflects the increasing importance faculties and units place on public relations, evidenced by the continuous rotation and change observed within the network teams. He emphasised that publishing news through the Khon Kaen University website is vital as it directly relates to the University’s corporate image and development strategy. The disseminated information is crucial for driving strategic initiatives, supporting the evaluation of Deans’ Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and enhancing the University’s institutional ranking through search engine optimisation and various social media platforms. Furthermore, this initiative facilitates the use of technology to streamline work processes, aligning with the specific missions of each operating unit.

Ms. Benjamaporn Mamukh, Head of Media Production at the Commumunication Affairs Division of Khon Kaen University , noted that training new users in public relations news writing is a primary responsibility for the media production team. This task represents a key Term of Reference (ToR) that supports the University’s OKRs in expanding promotional activities across all missions, especially in relation to the organisation’s image on the international stage. The training focused specifically on developing the skills of the young public relations network members to ensure they are prepared to communicate effectively on a global level.

Ms. Jiraporn Pratomchai, a Public Relations Officer the Commumunication Affairs Division of Khon Kaen University and the training instructor, explained that the core objectives of the programme were to facilitate the exchange of opinions regarding public relations and corporate image communication between the faculties and the central division. Crucially, it aimed to enhance news writing skills using AI, leveraging 21st-century digital tools to help PR officers reduce working time and boost efficiency. Lastly, the training sought to strengthen networking relations and image promotion through a mentorship structure, pairing new users with senior staff (known as ‘Pee Liang’). This strategy aims to professionalise the work of the Khon Kaen University PR network, enabling it to serve as a role model institution for institutional image building, ranking enhancement, and effective public relations management that meets the demands of KKU and other higher education institutions.

Ms. Punnapaphak Por-thong, a Public Relations Officer from the Faculty of Nursing, shared her positive experience: “This training provided both new knowledge and fresh inspiration. I feel that my ability to produce news has become more proficient, modern, and aligned with the communications demands of a contemporary organisation. I expect to apply this knowledge to significantly improve the public relations work within my faculty and unit.”

It is anticipated that this training will enhance the potential of the Khon Kaen University public relations network, enabling staff to create high-quality, contemporary news content that effectively communicates the corporate image on the international stage. Furthermore, this competence will support the University’s strategic drive and contribute to improving Khon Kaen University’s academic excellence rankings in the future.
