Student’s AI HealthTech Innovation, ‘VitalPatch AI,’ Clinches Gold at I-New Gen Award 2026

Smart Biosignal Patch Utilises AI for Early Risk Screening of Cardiac, Respiratory, and Neurological Conditions.

        The Khon Kaen University (KKU) Demonstration School (KDS) has received further recognition for its innovation efforts, following the announcement that the “VitalPatch AI” smart health innovation secured a prestigious Gold Medal at the Thailand New Gen Inventors Award 2026 (I-New Gen Award 2026). This achievement signifies the potential of the new generation to drive AI-powered health technology solutions.

         The award-winning project, officially titled “Smart Biosignal Patch for Initial Risk Screening of Cardiovascular, Respiratory, and Neurological Diseases,” focuses on proactive preventive healthcare by identifying health risks before diseases become severe.

         The innovation was developed by Mr. Natthapong Rungrojnimitichai, a student from the Upper Secondary School Level at KKU Demonstration School, Secondary Section (Faculty of Education). Mr. Natthapong’s work was supervised by Mr. Somchok Kaewuthas.

           This Gold Medal win contributes to the total 12 medals earned by KKU Demonstration School students at the national competition, underscoring the school’s commitment to nurturing students’ capabilities in research, creative thinking, and technology application tailored for societal benefit.
