KKU Physiotherapy Students Win Popular Vote Award at National Academic Forum

Young Physiotherapy talents secure Second Runner-up in the Popular Vote category at the National Academic Conference, highlighting their potential in community health promotion.

Mr. Thossapol Srirat and Ms. Nunnnapas Pannuruck, third-year students in the Department of Physiotherapy, received the Second Runner-up Popular Vote Award at the 2nd National Academic Conference on “Physiotherapy for Health Promotion” (ประจำปี 2569). The conference was held from 26 to 27 January 2026 at the Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel.

The award was presented for their poster presentation, titled “Prevention Is Possible: Diabetic Foot Care Awareness in the Samliam Community, Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province.” The project was conducted under the supervision of Dr Atipong Pimdee, Lecturer and Physiotherapist, Department of Physiotherapy.

In addition, the students, who served as representatives of the second cohort of the Young Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHPC) Project, also participated in a panel discussion entitled “The Power of Young ThaiHPC: From the Classroom to a Healthy Community.”

Mr. Thossapol Srirat expressed his immense pride, noting that the project was highly difficult and challenging. Although the team had to undertake activities they had no prior experience with—such as community outreach or working collaboratively with external agencies—every member was fully dedicated and worked tirelessly. He extended his gratitude to the advisor, teammates, and fellow students in the department who volunteered to provide support, emphasising that the successful outcome of this endeavour would not have been possible without the cooperation of all parties.

Ms. Nunnnapas Pannuruck stated that she was delighted and deeply impressed by the experience. She regarded it as an invaluable opportunity that allowed her to learn and undertake new activities that she never thought she would be brave enough to attempt. She thanked all the ThaiHPC staff for their encouragement, as well as the lecturer advisor, teammates, and volunteer students from the department. She remarked that their dedication was crucial in ensuring the smooth and successful completion of the project, which was filled with positive memories.

This achievement reflects the students’ strong potential as emerging leaders and community health advocates, demonstrating excellence in academic competence, leadership, public service spirit, and communication skills. The success not only enhances the positive image of the physiotherapy profession but also serves as an inspiration for physiotherapy students nationwide.
