KKU Engages 95 Community Leaders to Strengthen Ties and Promote Upcoming Societal Contribution Expo

Khon Kaen, Thailand – On Thursday, 26 February 2026, Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted a significant meeting with the presidents of 95 communities and clubs within the Khon Kaen Municipality. The event, held at the Sarasin Meeting Room in the Sirikunagorn Building, aimed to discuss avenues for collaboration, strengthen the relationship between the university and local communities, and formally invite the public to the upcoming KKU Societal Contribution Expo.

The large-scale public outreach event is scheduled for Friday, 6 March 2026, from 09:00 to 15:00 hrs at the Khon Kaen Railway Station, with all services offered free of charge.

Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, stated that the primary objective of the KKU Societal Contribution Expo is to extend the university’s knowledge, expertise, and resources directly to the community, thereby addressing the genuine needs of the public. “The expo will feature over 50 service booths, covering a wide range of areas including health, education, career development, and even pet care services. All activities will be completely free for everyone,” she explained.

During the meeting, Mr. Worawit Siripanuwat, Head of the Community Relations Section, provided a detailed overview of the services available at each booth. This was followed by an open forum where community representatives could voice their needs and offer suggestions for the event, ensuring that the activities are truly aligned with the community’s requirements.

The meeting saw excellent cooperation from all 95 community representatives. The feedback and recommendations received were comprehensive and offered valuable insights into the real needs of the local area. This information will be crucial for planning future “KKU for a Livable Community” initiatives. The university also requested the community presidents to help publicise the Societal Contribution Expo to their members through various channels, such as community public address systems and LINE groups.

Khon Kaen University remains committed to fostering livable communities and encouraging social participation, continually creating opportunities for community representatives to propose ideas that can lead to long-term, sustainable support activities.
