KKU Nong Khai Demonstration School Hosts “A Classroom to the Universe” Astronomy Camp

The academic service initiative provided students with hands-on learning experiences, fostering critical thinking and a deeper appreciation for science.

On 18–19 March 2026, the Khon Kaen University Demonstration School, Nong Khai Campus, under the supervision of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, organised an academic service programme, the “Du Dao Lao Fa” (Stargazing Stories) Astronomy Camp. Held at the school campus, the event was designed to offer students from both within and outside the institution an opportunity to learn science through creative, hands-on experiences.

The camp’s activities centred on practical workshops in astronomy, where participants explored celestial phenomena, the night sky, and the origins of the universe. Through direct observation, experiments, and engaging discussions with expert speakers, the programme aimed to cultivate a profound understanding and ignite a lasting interest in the science of the stars.

Beyond imparting academic knowledge, the “Stargazing Stories” camp played a vital role in developing students’ analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a broader worldview. It successfully stimulated curiosity and imagination, which are fundamental to scientific learning in the 21st century.

Furthermore, the project served as a significant platform for building academic collaboration networks among educational institutions in the region. It strengthened the educational community and sustainably enhanced the quality of learning for young people, preparing them to thrive in the modern world.
