KKU Launches Innovative Digital Platform to Enhance Transparency in Educational Document Verification

Khon Kaen University officially launched a pilot digital platform for traceability and forgery detection of academic documents for Grade 12 students in Northeastern Thailand on May 9, 2025, at Aura Café & Restaurant, Khon Kaen Province.
This groundbreaking initiative, supported by funding from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for the fiscal year 2024, is led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wararat Songpan, Deputy Director for Information Technology and Digital Innovation at the Academic Development and Administration Bureau. The project team includes:
– Asst. Prof. Dr. Denpong Soodphakdee, Vice President for Education and Digital,
– Asst. Prof. Dr. Piyawat Saipan, Director of the Academic Development and Administration Bureau, and
– Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wannawipa Kaewpradit Phonphinit, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs.
The platform is designed to modernize and streamline the verification of academic qualifications, using digital technology to enhance accuracy, transparency, and trust. In its initial phase, over 753 schools participated in piloting the system, enabling the verification of academic records for more than 8,700 students annually. The system has proven capable of accurately identifying errors or incomplete submissions and detecting potential forgeries in real time.
This year, the project aims to establish 104 model schools that will serve as leaders in adopting and disseminating the platform across the region and eventually to other parts of the country. More than just a technological solution, the platform represents a social innovation—fostering a culture of transparency, fairness, and accountability in the education system.
The participating schools are not merely end-users but partners in transformation, working hand-in-hand with Khon Kaen University to build a future where digital technology empowers education and ensures equal opportunities for all.
