Between June 30 and July 4, 2025, a delegation from Khon Kaen University (KKU) led by Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-aswapati, D.D.S., D.M.Sc., Vice President for International Affairs, along with executives from KKU Academy and KKUiLT, visited the Institute of Science Tokyo, Japan to strengthen educational capacity through research, knowledge exchange, and faculty development.
The Institute of Science Tokyo was established through the merger of two prestigious institutions in Japan—Tokyo Institute of Technology (TIT) and Tokyo Medical and Dental University (TMDU)—with the aim of advancing science and promoting human well-being through research. In addition to scientific progress, the Institute also prioritizes education and human capital development to cultivate global leaders.
During the visit, the KKU delegation not only learned from the experiences and advancements of the Institute of Science Tokyo but also shared insights and practices from KKU Academy, KKUiLT, and their Digital Transformation initiatives. The discussions sparked strong interest and laid the foundation for institutional-level collaboration between the two universities, evolving from previous faculty-level cooperation.Both sides agreed that in the pursuit of digital transformation and learning transformation, the most critical factor is human development.
As part of the visit, Assoc. Prof. Nawarat Wara-aswapati presented a token of appreciation on behalf of Khon Kaen University to Prof. Kinoshita Atsuhiro, Vice President for Digital Transformation (DX) and Medical Information Infrastructure, Institute of Science Tokyo.
