On July 16, 2025, the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, advanced its strategic commitment to Education Transformation by organizing the 2025 Annual Student Development Program under the theme “International Mindset: Understanding Our Neighbors through a Global Lens Toward Becoming Global Citizens.” The event featured a special lecture by Mr. Surapon Petch-vra, Vice Chairperson of the University Council and former Thai Ambassador to Santiago, Republic of Chile, who shared his expertise and diplomatic experience to equip students with essential 21st-century skills.
The event took place in Room NK 2217, Learning and Practice Building 1, Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University and was opened by Mrs. Chaatiporl Muangkote Mungkhunsan, Associate Dean of the Faculty. She delivered the welcoming remarks and officially launched the program, which was attended by a large number of university executives, faculty members, staff, and students.
Mrs. Chaatiporl emphasized the faculty’s strong commitment to equipping students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in a rapidly changing global landscape. She noted that this initiative directly aligns with Khon Kaen University’s Strategic Goal 1: Education Transformation—particularly Strategy 3, which focuses on developing students with 21st-century competencies. She expressed hope that this activity would broaden students’ worldviews, strengthen their future-ready capabilities, and ultimately contribute to the nation’s development.
In his keynote lecture, Mr. Surapon Petch-vra offered in-depth insights under the theme “International Mindset: Understanding Our Neighbors through a Global Lens Toward Becoming Global Citizens.” Drawing on his extensive diplomatic background, he highlighted the importance of international relations, cross-cultural understanding, and Thailand’s evolving role in the global community. His talk aimed to help students connect their academic knowledge with real-world international contexts.
The primary objective of the program was to prepare students with future skills, ensuring they stay ahead in both knowledge and technology, and are ready to succeed in the workforce of today and tomorrow. This initiative also reflects Khon Kaen University’s vision to be a world-class research and development institution contributing to global progress.
