On July 21, 2025, Primary Care Unit 123, Srinagarind Hospital, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Office of the President, Khon Kaen University, organized a practical training program titled “Developing a Health Surveillance System for At-Risk and Suspected New Hypertension Cases among Office of the President Staff.” The initiative aimed to promote awareness and provide knowledge on maintaining good health for improved quality of life.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Ms. Sunipa Sawai-ngoen, Director of the Office of the President. The training featured lectures by Asst. Prof. Dr. Pat Nonjui, Faculty of Medicine, specializing in Family Medicine under the Department of Community, Family, and Occupational Medicine, and Dr. Kamin Seehamongkon, a resident physician. The event drew strong participation from Office of the President personnel and was held at Sirikunakorn Room 3, 2nd Floor, Sirikunakorn Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University.
Ms. Sunipa Sawai-ngoen stated, “This activity follows health screening conducted for staff in the Office of the President, which revealed several risk factors associated with new cases of hypertension. Therefore, this training was organized to equip staff with the knowledge and awareness needed to maintain good health and prevent the risk of developing high blood pressure. Khon Kaen University prioritizes staff well-being and is committed to supporting health promotion initiatives that encourage early detection and healthy lifestyle practices for a better quality of life.”
During the session, Asst. Prof. Dr. Pat Nonjui delivered a lecture on emotional and stress management titled “Healing the Mind in the Workplace,” which included stress assessment and relaxation techniques. Dr. Kamin Seehamongkon shared practical advice on reducing health risks and adopting preventive measures.
This initiative reflects KKU’s commitment to enhancing health and welfare for staff at all levels, creating a safe and sustainable work environment in line with the university’s strategy to become a Learning University for Local and Social Development.
