KKUIC Joins Forces with Thailand’s International Colleges at 9th TICC, Charting Strategies to Become a Regional Education Hub

Amidst an atmosphere brimming with academic vision and collaboration, Silpakorn University International College (SUIC), this year, was the main host of the 9th TICC International Conference (9th TICC) on July 24, 2025. The event, held under the theme “Global Transformational Leadership through Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” took place at the Royal Orchid Sheraton Hotel & Towers, Riverside, Bangkok.

Building upon this momentum, the TICC International Conference serves as a collaborative platform that brings together academics, researchers, industry leaders, government agencies, and students to exchange ideas and explore solutions to sustainability challenges. By fostering interdisciplinary dialogue, the conference aspires to position itself as a key forum for tackling global issues and translating sustainability principles into meaningful action.

To understand the roots of this initiative, the Thailand International College Consortium (TICC) was originally conceived and established in 2014 by Prof. Dr. La-orsri Sanoamuang, former Dean of Khon Kaen University International College. The founding members included Khon Kaen University International College, the Faculty of International Studies at Prince of Songkla University Phuket Campus, and Naresuan University International College. Since then, the consortium has expanded and now comprises the following institutions:

1. Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC)
2. Faculty of International Studies, Prince of Songkla University Phuket Campus (FIS PSU Phuket)
3. Prince of Songkla University International College (PSUIC)
4. Naresuan University International College (NUIC)
5. Burapha University International College (BUUIC)
6. International College for Sustainability Studies, Srinakharinwirot University (SWUIC)
7. Silpakorn University International College (SUIC)
8. International College of Digital Innovation, Chiang Mai University (ICDI CMU)

At the 9th TICC, Khon Kaen University International College (KKUIC) demonstrated a pivotal role in driving Thailand’s international education landscape. A delegation of high-level executives, led by Asst. Prof. Sirimonbhorn Thipsingh – Dean of KKUIC, along with Asst. Prof. Saksuriya Traiyarach, Ph.D. – Associate Dean for Education and Human Resources Management, Dr. M.L. Manida Suksawat – Department Chair of Business Administration, Innovation and Applied Sciences, and Dr. Wei Yang – Department Chair of Arts, Social Sciences, and Linguistics Department, attended the conference to forge a new chapter of academic cooperation.

This participation transcends mere knowledge exchange, serving as a significant milestone that reflects KKUIC’s proactive vision to emerge as a regional leader in international education. Key highlights of their involvement included:

  • Strategic Networking: Building robust relationships with leading international colleges across the nation to become a key member and partner in elevating educational quality.
  • Showcasing World-Class Research: Providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and experience through research presentations, reinforcing the institution’s academic prowess.
  • Exploring New Forms of Collaboration: Seeking opportunities to develop educational innovations, joint degree programs, and exchange projects beneficial to both students and faculty in the future.

Khon Kaen University International College recognizes that the 9th TICC is more than an academic conference; it is an arena of opportunity to collectively shape the future of Thai education on the global stage. Consequently, KKUIC is committed to leveraging the acquired knowledge and partner network to create modern curricula, foster joint research, and open new doors of opportunity for its students. This reinforces the college’s mission to serve as a center of learning that sustainably produces high-quality ‘Global Citizens’ for the world community.

The success of participating in the 9th TICC International Conference is therefore not only an achievement for Khon Kaen University International College but also a clear signal of the readiness of regional institutions to take a leading role in setting standards and driving the nation’s international education ecosystem to be on par with global counterparts.
