KKU Demonstration School Joins Parents and Alumni to Donate Medical Supplies and Essentials to Support Frontline Missions and Boost Morale for Border Officers

The Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University united efforts with parents, alumni, and students to donate essential items, medical supplies, and medicines, delivering encouragement to military and security officers stationed at the Thai-Cambodian border and to civilians affected by recent unrest.

The clashes along the Thai-Cambodian border impacted residents in four provinces—Buriram, Surin, Sisaket, and Ubon Ratchathani—forcing many to evacuate to temporary shelters. Although an official ceasefire was declared at midnight on July 28, 2025, military personnel, border patrol police, and paramilitary rangers remain deployed to safeguard national security.

In response, the community mobilized to support frontline missions. On July 31, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., the Demonstration School of Khon Kaen University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng, Director of the Demonstration School, together with the school’s seven administrative divisions, joined forces with the Parents and Teachers Association, led by Dr. Kawee Jarungthaweewet, and the Alumni Association, represented by Mr. Chumpol Sinlapadonbom, along with parent representatives, to deliver essential goods, medical supplies, and medicines. These donations aim to support military officers and assist affected civilians at temporary shelters. The handover took place at Sri Patcharin Camp, Khon Kaen Province, with Major General Kittipong Nueangchomphu, Commander of the 23rd Military Circle, receiving the contributions.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut Jakpeng expressed his heartfelt support, stating that the school stands in solidarity with people living near the border and pays the highest respect to the courageous soldiers who serve as guardians of sovereignty and peace for the nation. To show gratitude and strengthen the mission, the school organized a donation campaign across all levels—kindergarten, elementary, secondary, special education, and the international section—encouraging students, parents, teachers, and staff to contribute. These efforts aim to assist both military personnel and civilians affected by the crisis.

“This activity reflects our commitment to creating shared value with society through active participation by students, teachers, and parents. It supports vulnerable groups, including military officers, border patrol units, and local communities. It also aligns with the university’s mission to strengthen communities and instill civic responsibility in students, preparing them to grow into quality citizens who not only receive but are willing to give and sacrifice for the greater good and for Thailand, our beloved homeland,” Asst. Prof. Dr. Sarawut concluded.

Major General Kittipong Nueangchomphu expressed his gratitude to Khon Kaen University for its continued support of national security operations, especially during sensitive situations along the border. He stated, “In every crisis lies an opportunity. This is a moment for us to unite all sectors for national security. I sincerely thank Khon Kaen University, especially the Demonstration School, for this profound act of generosity in donating essential goods and medical supplies to sustain our mission.”

He further emphasized that support from civilians and academic institutions holds great meaning for soldiers serving in remote areas, as it inspires them to remain steadfast in protecting the nation. Major General Kittipong also commended the university leadership for prioritizing national interests and fostering cooperation with various sectors, while praising the school for instilling values of morality and social responsibility in students.

In closing, he expressed deep appreciation to all parents, teachers, students, and supporters who extended their compassion to frontline personnel and soldiers. “May this goodwill and kindness strengthen our country’s security and peace. From the Thai border, we send heartfelt gratitude to all Thai citizens,” said Major General Kittipong.
