On August 19, 2025, at 7:00 a.m., Khon Kaen University hosted the 132nd Siharaj Coffeehouse Forum at the Rak Khwan Room, 3rd Floor, Buarasita Hotel, KKU. The event was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, who warmly welcomed participants. Colonel Suporntep Chaiyong, Commander of the 8th Infantry Regiment, delivered the opening remarks. Joining the event were Asst. Prof. Nuttsamon Tanakulsirisade, Ph.D., Vice President for Legal and Corporate Communication, Mr. Chumporn Para, Director of the Corporate Communication Division, executives and representatives from 19 partner organizations, and more than 70 participants from over 20 external agencies.
In his welcome address, President Charnchai emphasized the importance of strong collaboration within the Siharaj Coffeehouse network. He noted that the gathering was an opportunity to exchange perspectives and foster closer cooperation that would support social service projects planned by the network, while also reflecting the unity and collective strength of partner institutions in contributing to society.
Before the discussions, participants stood in silence to pay tribute to soldiers of the 8th Infantry Regiment who had lost their lives during border clashes along the Thai-Cambodian frontier. President Charnchai expressed heartfelt gratitude and condolences, recognizing their sacrifice in defending the sovereignty of the nation and underscoring the pride and honor of having such dedicated members within the Siharaj Coffeehouse network.
Colonel Suporntep Chaiyong thanked Khon Kaen University for hosting the event and praised the warm atmosphere that has characterized the Coffeehouse Forum since its establishment in 2009. He remarked that every meeting feels like returning home, and expressed confidence that the forum will continue to thrive well into the future. He also urged participants to remain vigilant against misinformation, encouraging reliance on official Army and Region 2 news channels for accurate information, and called for unity in safeguarding national sovereignty, security, and solidarity for future generations.
The event concluded with presentations from participating agencies, information sharing, and a breakfast reception. The Siharaj Coffeehouse Forum has been held monthly since 2009, serving as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and mutual support among public and private sector partners. The next forum will be co-hosted by the Forensic Science Center 4 and the Provincial Electricity Authority, Khon Kaen Branch 2.
