KKU Academic Service Bureau Launches “Administrative Law for Local Government Executives” Program to Promote Good Governance

The Academic Service Bureau, Khon Kaen University (KKU) organized a lifelong learning program on “Administrative Law for Local Government Executives” from August 4–7, 2025, at the SD Avenue Hotel, Bangkok. The program aimed to strengthen knowledge and skills in administrative law among local government executives, school administrators, public officials, legal officers, lawyers, and interested participants, while promoting transparent, lawful, and effective public administration.

The training was designed to build essential legal knowledge for local government administrators, civil servants, legal professionals, and public sector personnel. Distinguished lecturers included judges from the Supreme Administrative Court, executives from the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), the Office of the Auditor General (OAG), and experts in public finance. Topics covered included: principles of administrative law, personnel administration and discipline, government procurement and asset management, anti-corruption measures, administrative complaints and appeals, as well as key financial and fiscal compliance issues.

Over the four-day program, participants from more than 20 local government organizations nationwide engaged in intensive learning and experience sharing. The knowledge gained is expected to reduce operational risks, strengthen good governance, and enhance organizational management in accordance with the rule of law, ensuring that public administration effectively responds to citizens’ needs and contributes to sustainable social and national development.

Evaluation results indicated that participants benefited significantly from real case studies and peer exchanges with other local administrators. Most participants reported gaining new knowledge that could be directly applied to their daily work, reducing uncertainty in decision-making. In addition to knowledge acquisition, the program also provided valuable networking opportunities, fostering collaboration and the sharing of best practices across local administrations, thereby enhancing governance capacity at the national level.
