Khon Kaen University Law Delegation Studies Chinese Legal System at Leading Kunming Firm

KUNMING, China – A delegation from Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, including administrators, faculty, and Master of Laws students, conducted a study visit to the Yunnan Qinye Law Firm on August 12, 2025. The visit, led by the faculty’s dean, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, aimed to provide insights into the Chinese legal system.

The group was warmly welcomed by Mr. Jinqin Yang, Director of Yunnan Qinye Law Firm. The academic program featured a series of special lectures and knowledge-sharing sessions with legal experts from both China and Thailand.

Presentations from the Chinese side included an “Overview of the Legal Framework of the People’s Republic of China” by Ms. Qingyu Yang, a “Brief Introduction to the Judicial System of China” by Mr. Xuegang Cha, and “The Role of a Law Firm in the People’s Republic of China” by Ms. Jixiang Duan. Representing the Thai delegation, Dr. Bandit Khwayota, a lecturer in the Master of Laws program, presented an “Overview of the Justice System in Thailand.”

Following the lectures, management from both the university and the law firm discussed future collaboration. Talks focused on developing legal personnel to support expanding business between the two countries and establishing faculty and student exchange programs at both the bachelor’s and master’s levels. The goal of this potential partnership is to develop academic curricula that respond to evolving economic, trade, investment, and social changes.
