KKU Dentistry Faculty Enhances Cosmetic Skills with Advanced Veneer Workshop .The Prosthodontics Department at Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Dentistry is hosting its second hands-on workshop, “Veneer: Science and Art of Esthetic Dentistry,” to advance the skills of Thai dentists in cosmetic procedures. The training is scheduled to take place from August 26-28, 2025, at the Huen Ton Noon Hotel and the faculty’s campus laboratories.
The workshop was organized in response to a growing demand from patients seeking dental treatments to correct issues with tooth shape, size, and color. As veneers are an increasingly popular solution, the faculty identified a need for practitioners to have up-to-date knowledge covering the entire process, from diagnosis and planning to the final treatment steps.
A key focus of the program is to merge foundational knowledge with the latest advancements in dental technology. The curriculum will cover modern materials and digital tools that have revolutionized the field, such as digital smile analysis, intraoral scanners for taking impressions, and CAD/CAM technology for fabricating restorations. These innovations allow for more convenient, rapid, and precise outcomes that meet patient expectations.
The intensive training will be led by a team of 10 expert lecturers from within the Faculty of Dentistry. Participants will gain practical experience through hands-on sessions using models, covering both direct and indirect veneer techniques.
With over 70 dentists expected to attend, the workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of veneer procedures and modern materials. The faculty anticipates that participants will leave with significantly increased skills and confidence, enabling them to effectively apply this knowledge in their clinical practice and contribute to the high standard of dental care in Thailand. The server is busy.
