Dentistry Graduate Thanapat Thanomdamrongsak Honored with Prestigious Royal Award

The Faculty of Dentistry at Khon Kaen University has extended its warmest congratulations to Mr. Thanapat Thanomdamrongsak, a recent graduate, for being selected to receive the Royal Award for Higher Education Students for the 2024 academic year. The honor, one of the most distinguished for students in Thailand, was officially confirmed by the Ministry of Education in an announcement on July 30, 2025.

The award recognizes Mr. Thanapat’s exceptional and multifaceted contributions throughout his academic career, highlighting his excellence in academics, leadership, and service to the university and the wider community.

Among his extensive list of achievements, Mr. Thanapat has demonstrated outstanding leadership, serving as the President of the Dentistry Student Union for the 2023 academic year. His commitment to public service and academic excellence has been recognized with numerous accolades, including:

  • The 2024 Sri Kalapapruek Award, a university-level honor for students who serve as exemplary role models for society.
  • The 2024 Luang Vaja Vidyavadhana Award from the Dental Association of Thailand, which is granted to students with excellent academic records, discipline, and a spirit of public service.
  • 1st Runner-Up as part of the team in the 5th International Dental Physiology Quiz (IDPQ) 2021, hosted by the University of Malaya.
  • Multiple awards from Khon Kaen University for his outstanding contributions to extracurricular activities.

Mr. Thanapat’s involvement extended across a wide spectrum of activities, from representing the university in international student forums in Vietnam to leading community health outreach programs. He served as a field training chairman for interdisciplinary medical science students, a fundraising chair for university ceremonies, and an MC for numerous faculty events. He was also active in sports, participating in volleyball, badminton, and running events, and was a member of the faculty’s choir for six years.

The Faculty of Dentistry stated that this prestigious award is a source of immense pride for the faculty, Khon Kaen University, and Mr. Thanapat’s family. The faculty praised his unwavering dedication and hard work, which have culminated in this significant and well-deserved national recognition.
