Khon Kaen University’s Academic Service Center, in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, hosted a specialized workshop on August 28-29 to advance the international quality of its academic programs. The event, held at the Bayasita Hotel on the university campus, was the second training session focused on preparing Self-Assessment Reports (SAR) in accordance with the ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance (AUN-QA) Version 4 criteria. The workshop was designed to upskill faculty members and staff responsible for curriculum development, enabling them to produce effective assessment reports. Adherence to AUN-QA standards is considered a key mechanism for elevating the university’s educational quality and strengthening its competitiveness on an international level.
Leading the training were Assistant Professor Dr. Pawadee Pakdee and Assistant Professor Dr. Sukanya Ruangsuwan, both recognized experts in the field. The curriculum covered the conceptual framework of AUN-QA Version 4.0, its relationship with Thailand’s national quality assurance system, and intensive, hands-on practice in report writing for all eight criteria. Key areas of focus included expected learning outcomes, curriculum structure, learning support systems, and continuous quality improvement.
The workshop provided an effective and collaborative environment where participants could exchange knowledge and engage in practical application. This approach fostered a deep understanding of how to systematically connect data and evidence to produce comprehensive self-assessment reports. Attendees are now equipped with practical skills to implement tangible improvements within their respective programs’ quality assurance systems.
The success of the event underscores Khon Kaen University’s commitment to developing an educational quality assurance system that meets international benchmarks, ultimately aiming to enhance the competitiveness of its programs in both regional and global arenas.
