NAKHON PHANOM – The Communications Affairs Division of Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a three-day seminar from August 28-30, 2025, to formulate its operational plan for the 2026 fiscal year, aiming to strategically enhance the university’s image in line with its vision of becoming a world-leading research institution.
The event, held at the Cheewa Khong Hotel, brought together over 25 staff members, including Division Director Chumporn Para and the heads of Media Production, Event Relations, and the Radio Unit. The primary goal was to brainstorm and refine a comprehensive communications strategy by reviewing past performance, improving operational processes, and ensuring individual roles align with the university’s broader objectives.
Chumporn Para stated that the division’s work, supervised by Vice President for Legal and Communications Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, directly supports KKU’s 2026-2029 strategic plan and its vision to become “A World-Leading Research and Development University.” This university-wide strategy is built on four main pillars: Academic Excellence and Innovation; Smart Campus and ESG Integration; Optimization of University Resources for Growth and Sustainability; and Societal Contribution via Cultural Involvement and Community Integration.
“The Communications Affairs Division plays a crucial role in driving the second pillar, ‘Smart Campus and ESG Integration,’ specifically under the strategy of good governance and social leadership,” Para explained. “Our two main approaches are to communicate the university’s image and credibility to stakeholders and to respond to and guide society.”
He emphasized that the seminar was a critical first step in laying the groundwork for this mission. “We have numerous strategic projects, from producing English-language news to developing online media and building community networks, all designed to elevate Khon Kaen University’s international recognition,” Para added.
During the workshop, staff members were divided into three groups—Media Production, Event Relations, and the Radio Unit—to facilitate integrated planning and collaborative problem-solving. Discussions focused on analyzing past results, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and developing streamlined workflows.
The division is responsible for driving 14 strategic projects under the university’s new framework. Key initiatives include producing English-language news to build KKU’s international reputation, enhancing online media production capabilities, developing community and media relations networks, and implementing social responsibility programs.
The outcomes of the seminar are expected to provide a concrete plan to elevate Khon Kaen University’s profile on the global stage and equip its communications staff to meet the challenges of the digital era, ultimately advancing the university’s goal of becoming a top-tier research institution.
