KKU Culinary Students Earn Accolades at Mega Food Competition 2025

Students from the Culinary Science and Technology program at Khon Kaen University’s Faculty of Technology have achieved notable success at the “Mega Food Competition 2025,” a national cooking contest held from September 2-4 at the IMPACT Exhibition Center in Muang Thong Thani. The event was part of the larger ASEAN Food & Beverage Exhibition and was organized by the Thailand Chefs Association.

        The university sent two teams of second-year students to compete in the Junior category, for competitors under 23 years of age, showcasing their skills and creativity in the culinary arts.

The first team, competing in the “Duck Dish” category, placed joint eighth out of 15 teams. The team members were Mr. Krittapol Faiboon, Ms. Pratairat Tanasin, and Ms. Jidapa Namastaisong, who served as the team assistant.

The second team, earned an honorable mention and a cash prize of 3,000 THB in the “Salmon Dish” category. They secured a joint fourth-place finish among 15 competing teams. The members of this team were Ms. Pirida Wongchang, Ms. Deeranakorn Pradapsri, and Ms. Apassara Pimbul as the team assistant.

The achievement is seen as a reflection of the students’ outstanding potential and diligent training, combined with the dedicated support of their faculty advisors. The coaching staff’s commitment to guiding and training the students was crucial to their ability to create successful work and triumph on the national stage.
