On Friday, September 5, 2024, Khon Kaen University’s Enterprise and Sustainable Society division hosted a delegation from the Agro-Industrial Academic Council Association (AIAC) at its Food Pilot Plant.
The visiting group, which included faculty and staff from the university, toured the facility to observe modern food processing technologies. Key equipment showcased included a twin-screw extruder, a High-Pressure Processing (HPP) system, and a spray dryer. These technologies are crucial in the modern food industry for preserving nutritional value, extending shelf life, and efficiently adding value to food products.
The visit aimed to foster collaboration among agro-industry faculties from universities across Thailand. The goal is to exchange best practices for developing and elevating educational standards, as well as to strengthen the association’s role in advancing the nation’s agricultural industry toward sustainability.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by producing quality food, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by promoting modern industry, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging socially and environmentally responsible food practices.
