“IC Day & Global Handwashing Day 2025” Event Focuses on Infection Control and Patient Safety

Khon Kaen, Thailand – The “IC DAY & Global Handwashing Day 2025” event was held on September 10, 2025, at the Sirikit Cardiovascular Center. Assoc. Prof. Pattarapong Makarawate, MD, MSc, FHRS

Dean of the Faculty of Medicine  and Director of the Sirikit Cardiovascular Center, presided over the opening ceremony.

Organized under the theme “IC Connect for Better Clinical Outcome,” the event aimed to foster a learning network for hospital infection prevention and control. Its primary objective was to elevate the quality of patient care to international standards. The program featured expert speakers who delivered lectures and facilitated knowledge exchange among participants.

A key highlight of the event was the announcement of winners for a slogan contest. The contest, themed “Preventing and Reducing Hospital Infections for the Safety of Patients and Personnel,” was designed to continuously raise awareness about the critical importance of handwashing and ongoing infection control among medical staff and attendees.
