Khon Kaen University (KKU) held a ceremony on September 15, 2025, to present royal decorations to its personnel. The event, organized by the Human Resources Department, took place in front of a portrait of His Majesty the King at Saisuree Jutikul Meeting Room, Faculty of Education, Khon Kaen University.
Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony. Associate Professor Pattarawit Polpinit, Ph.D., Vice President for Human Resources, delivered a report. The decorations were awarded to 393 university staff members for their meritorious service to the nation, religion, and the people, covering the years 2022-2024. These royal honors are bestowed by His Majesty the King as a mark of recognition and distinction.
The ceremony commenced with the President lighting candles and incense to pay homage to the Triple Gem, followed by a salute to the national flag and a respectful gesture towards His Majesty the King’s portrait. The Vice President for Human Resources then delivered his report before the recipients were called forward in sequence to receive their royal decorations in front of the royal portrait.
In his report, Associate Professor Pattarawit Polpinit highlighted that His Majesty the King graciously bestows various royal decorations, including the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant, the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand (of various classes), and The Chakrabarti Mala Medal, annually on the occasion of His Majesty’s birthday on July 28. Royal commands are issued for government agencies and organizations to arrange appropriate ceremonies for the presentation of these decorations in front of a royal portrait.
Khon Kaen University had submitted requests for royal decorations for its personnel for the years 2022-2024. His Majesty the King graciously granted these honors, which serve as a reward for merit and a symbol of distinction for the recipients who have performed good deeds beneficial to the nation, religion, and the people.
A total of 393 individuals received decorations across various classes:
- Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: 4 recipients
- Knight Grand Cordon (Special Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand: 1 recipient
- The Chakrabarti Mala Medal: 70 recipients
- Knight Commander (Second Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: 14 recipients
- Knight Commander (Second Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand: 9 recipients
- Commander (Third Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: 18 recipients
- Commander (Third Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand: 24 recipients
- Companion (Fourth Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: 130 recipients
- Companion (Fourth Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand: 30 recipients
- Member (Fifth Class) of the Most Exalted Order of the White Elephant: 25 recipients
- Member (Fifth Class) of the Most Noble Order of the Crown of Thailand: 68 recipients
