The Khon Kaen University Demonstration School (Modindaeng) hosted its annual charity walk-run, the “SMD Family Running for Fun 2025,” on Saturday, October 4, 2025. The event, held under the slogan “RUN TO REMEMBER,” brought together over 2,000 participants to strengthen community bonds and promote health.
Organized in collaboration with the school’s Parent-Teacher Association and Alumni Association, the event marked its seventh consecutive year. The run attracted a diverse crowd of elementary and high school students, parents, teachers, alumni, and the general public.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Assoc. Asst.Prof.Prapansak Chaveerach,DVM., Ph.D Assistant to the President for Student Affairs and Innovation Commercialization Also in attendance were Dr. Kawi Jarungthawiwet, President of the Parent-Teacher Association and the event’s chairman; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjak, Dean of the Faculty of Education; along with school administrators, Khon Kaen Vice Governor Prachuap Rakphaet, and Khon Kaen Chamber of Commerce Chairman Jakkrit Siriphanich.
Participants took part in two race categories: a 3.5-kilometer Fun Run and a 5.3-kilometer run, with options for individual, family team, and fancy dress entries. The races started at the 7th Year Building on the secondary school campus, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

“This event is not only about promoting good health but also beautifully connects the school, teachers, parents, alumni, and the community,” said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Praphansak Chaveerach during his opening remarks.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Issara Kanjak added that this year’s run was particularly significant as it would be the last in its current format. Future events will expand to include the entire Khon Kaen University Demonstration School community, uniting both the Modindaeng and Faculty of Education campuses into a larger “run of unity.”
“SMD Family Running for Fun is more than just a race; it’s a tradition of connection for the Satit Modindaeng family, born from love, unity, and cooperation,” stated the Dean.

Event chairman Dr. Kawi Jarungthawiwet expressed his gratitude to the organizing committee, parents, and student volunteers. “The success of this event is measured not by the number of runners, but by the positive memories we create together through unity and pure generosity,” he said.
Attendees praised the smooth organization, which included ample water stations, first aid services, food and beverage provisions, and a lucky draw that concluded the event with smiles and happiness for the “Satit Modindaeng family.”
