Khon Kaen University’s Food Analysis Lab Undergoes Audit for International Standard

Khon Kaen University is advancing its food analysis laboratory toward international recognition, undergoing an internal quality audit for ISO/IEC 17025:2017 certification. The assessment, which took place from September 29-30, 2025, aims to elevate the lab’s capabilities, ensuring its testing procedures are accurate, reliable, and managed under a standardized quality system.

The audit was conducted at the Food Analysis Laboratory, part of the university’s Pilot Plant for Agricultural Processing and Food Products. The process was described as rigorous and comprehensive, with the successful outcome demonstrating the laboratory’s potential to provide dependable testing and analysis services. This development is intended to build confidence among farmers, entrepreneurs, and consumers.

Personnel from the university’s Research Administration Division served as auditors for the evaluation, ensuring the process adhered to academic principles and met the standard’s specific requirements.

University officials noted that this initiative aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It supports SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) by promoting food security and nutritional safety, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure) by developing a world-class laboratory, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) by encouraging the processing of high-quality, safe, and socially responsible agricultural products.

This audit marks a significant step for Khon Kaen University in translating its academic and research missions into practical applications that benefit society.
