A delegation from Khon Kaen University (KKU) visited Osaka University in Japan on October 2, 2024, to strengthen collaboration in research, innovation, and modern teaching methodologies. The visit aimed to advance KKU’s global partnership strategy and enhance academic ties between the two institutions. The KKU delegation was led by Dr. Narongchai Akrasanee, Chairman of the University Council, and Assoc. Prof. Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D. , President of Khon Kaen University. They were accompanied by university council members, administrators, and faculty deans and staff from the faculties of Medicine, Engineering, Technology, and Humanities and Social Sciences.
During the visit, the group met with executives and faculty from several of Osaka University’s leading institutes and laboratories. These included the Research Institute of Microbial Disease, the Uyama Laboratory in the Department of Polymer Materials Chemistry, the Graduate School of Engineering, the International Center for Biotechnology, and the School of Foreign Studies.
The primary objectives of the meeting were to exchange in-depth knowledge, learn about the latest academic and technological advancements, and discuss best practices in research and innovation. The universities also explored joint curriculum design to elevate education in the digital era, focusing on personnel development and collaborative research projects.
This initiative marks a significant step for Khon Kaen University in fostering its international mission. The strengthened relationship is expected to lead to future joint research projects, exchanges of researchers and students, and the integration of new technologies and innovations into sustainable teaching practices.
