The General Education Teaching Institute at Khon Kaen University (GE KKU) hosted the “Art & Creative Exhibition 2025” on October 17, 2024, providing a platform for students from diverse academic fields to showcase their creative works and share learning experiences.
Held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Phot Sarasin Building, the event featured a large number of students from the “Creative Arts” general education course (GE161892). The exhibition aimed to develop practical skills beyond traditional academic knowledge.
Dr. Chomnad Upachitkul, the course chair for Creative Arts, stated that the program focuses on developing soft skills applicable to daily life. She noted that the variety of works on display reflected the different perspectives and creative ideas of students from various majors. This exchange of ideas, she added, allows students to gain new experiences and broaden their creative horizons.
Student participants reported that the experience was valuable for their personal development. Chaiwat Faipeia, a first-year Sociology and Anthropology major, said the activity helped him improve his analytical thinking and creative collaboration skills. He considered the opportunity to present his work and receive feedback an invaluable lesson for future projects.
Two second-year Chinese language majors, Rattanaporn Sap-amnuay and Papitchaya Noree, mentioned that the event encouraged them to try new things and that the results exceeded their expectations. They found the experience inspiring, building their confidence to step outside their comfort zones and continue experimenting.
The exhibition highlighted the success of the university’s general education curriculum in fostering well-rounded students. The event emphasized the development of creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and artistic communication—skills considered essential for 21st-century graduates facing complex challenges.
Organizers believe that presenting work and receiving feedback helps build students’ confidence and self-expression, while seeing the art of peers from different disciplines serves as inspiration. The university views the event’s success as a confirmation of its commitment to producing quality, creative graduates prepared to contribute to national development.
