On 28 October 2025, at the multipurpose room on the ground floor of the Khon Kaen International Airport Building, Mr. Chumporn Para, Director of the Corporate Communications Division, Khon Kaen University (KKU), along with university personnel, participated in the 138th “Si Harach Coffee Council” meeting. The meeting was hosted jointly by Khon Kaen International Airport and the Northeastern Royal Rainmaking Operations Centre.
The gathering aimed to provide a platform for government agencies, the private sector, and local network partners to exchange information, updates, and viewpoints, as well as to foster relationships and cooperation for sustainable regional development.
Before the commencement of the official agenda, participants observed a moment of silence to convey their profound sorrow and respect for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother, and to recall Her Majesty’s boundless compassion and royal grace.
During the promotional segment, Mr. Chumporn Para, the representative from Khon Kaen University, provided clarification and publicity regarding the upcoming “Sithan Festival 2025”. The festival is scheduled to take place from 3–5 November 2025, along the banks of Sithan Lake on the KKU campus. While the main traditional activities will continue this year, the organising committee has adapted the format to better suit the current situation.
The organisers have planned several special activities for the programme, including:
- A traditional Isan procession of condolence, dedicated to commemorating Her Majesty’s infinite royal grace.
- An activity involving lighting 15,000 ground lanterns (Krathong Bok) to form the letters “SK KKU”, demonstrating loyalty and devotion.
- A ceremony of homage and condolence held at the Phra Sumera Monument, which will be open to the public 24 hours a day for offering tributes.
In addition, the festival will feature a range of traditional and cultural activities, all carefully designed to honour and commemorate the boundless royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
