KKU Organises Condolence Signing Ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother The President of Khon Kaen University led the administrators, faculty members, university staff, and students in offering their deepest condolences and sorrow.

Following the Royal Household Bureau’s announcement regarding the demise of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother (dated 24 October 2025), and the subsequent notification from the Office of the Prime Minister (dated 25 October 2025), the news of Her Majesty’s passing has brought immense sorrow to the people of Thailand, whose hearts are filled with profound grief.

Khon Kaen University (KKU) therefore organised a Condolence Signing Ceremony for Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. This event was held to recall and reflect upon Her Majesty’s immense and boundless royal grace towards the nation and the populace throughout her reign. It served to demonstrate unwavering loyalty and eternal gratitude, affirming that Her Majesty will reside permanently in the hearts of the Thai people.

Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by his wife, Dr. Uenjit Panthongviriyakul. Administrators, faculty members, university staff, and students gathered together to participate in the solemn occasion on Friday, 31 October 2025, from 09:09 to 09:30 hrs, in the lobby area on the 1st floor of Siri Khunakaran Building, Office of the President, Khon Kaen University.

 
 

The ceremony commenced with the President and his wife leading the proceedings according to the following protocol:

The President of Khon Kaen University and his wife led the attendees in paying respects before the Royal Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The President and all attendees observed one minute of silence to mourn Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
Following the silence, the President delivered an address offering profound condolences and honouring the royal grace of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother:

 
 
 

“I, Associate Professor Charnchai Panthongviriyakul, M.D., President of Khon Kaen University, along with the administrators, faculty members, university staff, and students, wish to offer our deepest and unparalleled condolences upon the passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

Throughout her reign, Her Majesty was a beacon of compassion and dedication, devoting her wisdom, perseverance, and tireless efforts to improving the quality of life of the Thai people across all regions — in public health, education, arts and culture, and the conservation of natural resources.

“We are profoundly grateful for Her Majesty’s immeasurable kindness and royal grace. We hereby pledge to conduct ourselves as good citizens and commit to passing on Her Majesty’s noble intentions for the continued stability and prosperity of the nation and the well-being of its people.”

Following the address, the President and his wife signed the book of condolences, followed by the administrators, faculty members, university staff, and students in succession, concluding the ceremony.
