Khon Kaen University Announces Temporary Traffic Management Plan for Sithan International Festival 2025 KKU Implements Temporary Road Closures and Parking Zones for Sithan Nawathara Himalayan Event, 3–5 November 2025

Khon Kaen University (KKU) has issued an official announcement (KKU Announcement No. 2832/2568) detailing the temporary traffic system for the Sithan International Festival 2025, themed “Sithan Nawathara Himalayan,” which will take place from 3 to 5 November 2025, at the Sithan Lake area of the University.

The University hosts the annual Sithan International Festival to preserve arts and culture and to drive the creative economy for the benefit of the community, society, and the nation. The 2025 festival merges KKU’s arts and culture activities with the traditional Loy Krathong festival, encompassing facets of traditional faith, values, and environmental responsibility, thereby ensuring the continuation of this cherished annual tradition. The event features exhibitions, vendors, amusement rides, a main stage, and various cultural performances. Given the large number of anticipated attendees, the implementation of safety and order measures is essential.

In exercise of the authority vested by Section 37(1) of the Khon Kaen University Act B.E. 2558 (2015), Khon Kaen University hereby announces the temporary closure of the following traffic routes during the Sithan International Festival 2025, from 03.00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m., from 3 to 5 November 2025:

1. Temporary closure of Sithan Road (Road 1), commencing from the Sithan Gate to the junction near the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre.
2. Temporary closure of Soi 1, Sithan Road, commencing from the junction near the Arts and Culture Centre to the Princess Sirindhorn Botanical Garden Museum.
3. Temporary closure of Soi 1/2, Sithan Road, commencing from the junction near the Phutthasilpa Building to the rear junction of the Arts and Culture Centre stage and grandstands.
4. Temporary closure of Soi 3 (Road 4) in the vicinity of the Science Museum.
5. Designated Parking Areas for Attendees

   5.1 The parking lot of the Golden Jubilee Convention Centre.

  5.2 The parking lot within the Sithan Village area. 

Attendees are requested to utilise the following designated parking areas.  Attendees are asked to cooperate by parking only in the specified zones. Vehicles are strictly prohibited from parking in a manner that obstructs traffic flow or encroaches upon forest edges or public park spaces.

The Security and Traffic Division of Khon Kaen University will coordinate staff to manage the traffic system in accordance with this announcement. For further inquiries, please contact 0 4320 2191 or Hotline 08 1708 5891.
