The Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University, organised a ceremony to present scholarships from the Vejdusit Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarinda, for the ‘Nurturing Seeds, Creating Nurses’ Project (3rd intake) for the Academic Year 2025. These scholarships were awarded to three academically high-achieving students needing financial assistance, providing 70,000 baht per person annually for the duration of the four-year programme.
On 31 October 2025, the Faculty of Nursing, Khon Kaen University (KKU), held the scholarship presentation ceremony. The support, provided under the ‘Nurturing Seeds, Creating Nurses’ Project (3rd intake) for the Academic Year 2025, aims to support three financially disadvantaged students who demonstrate excellent academic performance. Each recipient will receive 70,000 baht per year throughout their four-year curriculum.
Assoc. Prof. Ampornpan Theeranut, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, together with faculty administrators and staff, welcomed Dr. Niwat Intarawichian, Director of Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen, Ms. Rianthong Wongsoot, Director of Nursing at Bangkok Hospital Khon Kaen, and representatives from the Vejdusit Foundation Committee. Dr. Intarawichian graciously presented the scholarships and shared the Foundation’s strategies and operations in furthering the production of qualified professional nurses to meet existing societal demands.

Dr. Niwat Intarawichian stated that the Vejdusit Foundation, under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarinda, provides scholarships through the ‘Vejdusit: Nurturing Seeds, Creating Nurses’ Project to increase educational opportunities for undergraduates. This effort specifically targets nursing and midwifery, a profession suffering from shortages and one that is crucial for maintaining public health in the nation.
The Vejdusit Foundation Committee selected three students from the KKU Faculty of Nursing to receive the 2025 scholarships. Each scholarship grants 70,000 baht (seventy thousand baht) per year for four years, totalling 280,000 baht (two hundred and eighty thousand baht) per student for the entire programme, covering registration fees, accommodation, and other necessary educational expenses.

Assoc. Prof. Ampornpan Theeranut expressed her profound gratitude to the Vejdusit Foundation and all related sectors for recognising the importance of providing educational opportunities and continually supporting the Faculty’s mission to produce high-quality professional nurses for a healthy society. She noted that the Foundation has continuously provided scholarships to students in the Faculty of Nursing from 2023 to 2025 until they graduate. In the Academic Year 2023, 14 students received funding, followed by 3 students in 2024, and 3 students in 2025, resulting in a total of 20 recipients and a cumulative funding amount of 5,600,000 baht. She concluded by congratulating the scholarship recipients.
