Khon Kaen University’s Food Analysis Laboratory Reaches International Capabilities
Between 30 and 31 October 2025, the Enterprise and Societal Sustainability Division, through the Food and Agriculture Pilot Plant, Khon Kaen University (KKU), underwent a surveillance assessment for its food analysis testing laboratory under the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 international standard. The assessment was conducted by the inspection team from the Bureau of Laboratory Administration and Certification, Department of Science Service (DSS), at Meeting Room 2, Science Park Office Building, Khon Kaen University.

The assessment aimed to evaluate the ongoing effectiveness of the laboratory’s quality management system and its technical competency, ensuring compliance with international standard requirements. This compliance guarantees that test results issued by the Pilot Plant are accurate and reliable, effectively supporting research activities and product development services for all sectors.
Operating under the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard is a key mechanism for enhancing the University’s food testing capacity to meet international benchmarks. This enhancement boosts the competitive capacity of domestic products, increases opportunities for the commercial development of agricultural and food products, and builds confidence among consumers and the industrial sector.

Khon Kaen University’s Food and Agriculture Pilot Plant remains committed to developing the laboratory’s capabilities, providing analysis services, transferring knowledge in food technology, and supporting sustainable production in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This is specifically relevant to SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), by focusing on processing practices that reduce waste and maximise resource efficiency. The initiative also aligns with SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), which aims to achieve food and nutrition security—a fundamental commitment of Khon Kaen University in its development mission for the community.

The Pilot Plant welcomes collaborations with government agencies, private sectors, and entrepreneurial networks to jointly drive food innovation, increase the value of agricultural produce, and support the sustainable growth of the grass-roots economy.
