Khon Kaen University Co-Hosts Royal Merit-Making Ceremony In Tribute to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother
On 3 November 2025, Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Mrs. Natsamol Tanakulrungsarit, Vice President for Legal and Communications, who served as the presiding chair of the event, participated in the royal merit-making ceremony for the recitation of the Abhidhamma. This solemn dedication was held in honour of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.
The event took place at Phra Mahathat Kaennakhon Anusorn Sadtuchon, Wat Nong Waeng Royal Monastery, Mueang Khon Kaen District, Khon Kaen Province. It was attended by KKU personnel, heads of government divisions, organisational leaders from both the public and private sectors, and dedicated members of the public.
The programme adhered to the schedule established by Khon Kaen Province, commencing at 16:30 hours. The Vice President, as the presiding chair, offered lighted incense and candles to the Triple Gem and respectfully paid homage before the royal portrait. Following this, the monks delivered a sermon on the Dharma, which was succeeded by the offering of monetary and material requisites (Jatu-Pachai Thai-Dham) and the performance of the water pouring ritual to dedicate merit. The ceremony officially concluded after the recitation of the Abhidhamma by four Buddhist monks and the final offering of gifts (Thai-Dham) to the clergy.
Khon Kaen University co-hosted this ceremony to express profound gratitude for Her Majesty’s immeasurable benevolence and to respectfully commemorate the exemplary Royal Conduct of Her Majesty the Queen Mother.
