Khon Kaen University Invites Public to Commemorate Her Majesty The Queen Mother and Reflect on Her Royal Contributions through the Exhibition, “Her Majesty The Queen Mother and Khon Kaen University”

Khon Kaen University (KKU) is not merely a higher education institution; it serves as a pillar of hope and development for the Northeastern region. This fundamental role stems from the boundless Royal Generosity bestowed upon KKU over many decades by Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother.

To humbly express gratitude for this immense Royal Patronage, the Khon Kaen University Library (KKUL) has organised the commemorative exhibition, “Her Majesty The Queen Mother and Khon Kaen University.” This exhibition compiles the Royal Activities connected with Khon Kaen University that have profoundly impacted the improvement of educational quality and supported sustainable development across the entire Northeast region.

The exhibition is divided into five sections:

1) The First Step of Hope: Historical photographs documenting the first Royal Visit to Khon Kaen University.

2) Royal Wisdom and Competence: Details of the eight honorary doctoral degrees conferred upon Her Majesty by Khon Kaen University.

3) Uplifting the Lives of Isan People: Documents related to Her Majesty laying the foundation stone for Srinagarind Hospital, Khon Kaen University, and graciously naming the Queen Sirikit Heart Center of the Northeast (QSHC). This centre stands as a vital pillar of health, caring for the lives of citizens in the Isan region and neighbouring countries in the Mekong sub-region.

4) Bestowing Encouragement upon Graduates: Images displaying the pride felt during Her Majesty’s Royal Representation to bestow degree certificates upon the 15th graduating class of Khon Kaen University.

5) Evolving Bond of Eternity: Stories recounting the last occasion Her Majesty performed Royal Activities at Khon Kaen University, an event which remains eternally imprinted in the memory of all faculty, staff, and alumni.

Khon Kaen University invites members of the public to reflect upon Her Majesty’s great royal competence and generosity by visiting the exhibition, “Her Majesty The Queen Mother and Khon Kaen University,” held during the period of 31 October 2025 to 30 October 2026.
