The Faculty of Science, Khon Kaen University (KKU), is taking a significant step towards developing international educational quality by organising the training workshop, “Curriculum Development according to Outcome-Based Education (OBE) Guidelines.”
The workshop took place on 19 November 2025, from 09.00 to 16.00 hrs., in Room SC.8104, 1st Floor, Science Building 08. Assistant Professor Angkana Boonyued, Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Science, presided over the event. Faculty members, programme heads, and curriculum committee members from all departments attended the activity.
For this important training, the Faculty of Science was honoured to welcome Assistant Professor Pawadee Pakdee, Ph.D., and Assistant Professor Sukunya Ruangsuwan, Ph.D.—both internal quality assessors for curricula under the AUN-QA criteria established and registered by the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) to evaluate and certify the quality of higher education programmes—as guest speakers.

The objective of the training was to ensure that programme administrators and instructors gain a thorough understanding of the principles of OBE and the AUN-QA V.4 criteria. Participants were educated on how to effectively develop and revise curricula to meet international standards. Attendees are now able to explain the relationship between OBE, curriculum accreditation, and the AUN-QA V.4.0 criteria. Furthermore, they can articulate the methodology for curriculum revision based on these principles and successfully define Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs) to fully design curricula following the Backward Curriculum Design approach.
The organisation of this training reflects the Faculty of Science’s commitment to raising educational standards in line with modern learning trends that emphasise measurable learning outcomes. This initiative aims to produce high-quality graduates who meet the demands of the digital labour market, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the nation in science and technology.
