On November 22, 2025, Associate Professor Nattasom Thanakulrangsrit, Vice President for Legal Affairs and Corporate Communications of Khon Kaen University, along with staff members, attended the golden spire installation ceremony of the Phra Maha That Kaen Nakhon at Wat Nong Wang. The Royal Temple in Mueang District, Khon Kaen Province, is the venue for an important ceremony according to ancient royal traditions. The ceremony continues the local community’s Buddhist faith.
The ceremony was honored by the presence of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister, who presided over the event, with the gracious participation of Somdet Phra Maha Viravong, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council and Secretary to the Supreme Patriarch, serving as the presiding monk.
The event includes a Buddhist chanting ceremony, a ceremony to invite the ceremonial umbrella, and a ceremony to raise the golden umbrella to be installed atop the Great Relic of the City, to preserve Buddhist traditions and bring auspicious blessings to the community.
Professor Nattasomol Thanakulrangsrit represented Khon Kaen University in making a merit offering to support the event and participated in religious activities according to the schedule of Wat Nong Waeng. The ceremony was conducted with dignity, reflecting the collaboration between government sectors, the monastic community, and the public in preserving the valuable local traditions.
